Starting Point is a trading methodology designed by Joe Krutsinger for traders that are new to the market. It was designed to provide a base of understanding on how a good essential trading strategy may enable you to tap into the power of a mechanical trading system.
This system is designed to use with stocks/stock indexes and futures. It follows the philosophy that ANY up movement may become an enter long signal, and ANY down movement following a valid up movement trend (two days or more up movement) may become a valid exit signal. While it can be very good at capturing profits on a large number of trades, no real protection mechanism has been put into place if the trade immediately moves against you. Stop-loss orders of $500 should be used to prevent the few failing trades from removing all acquired profits.

About Joe Krutsinger
Joe Krutsinger began his futures and options career over thirty years ago with ContiCommodity. He has worked in every facet of the industry and continues to be a prolific developer of trading systems. He has developed proprietary trading programs for numerous clients and brokerage firms and currently works directly with clients and brokerage firms designing custom systems. Joe has been a trading system design consultant since 1989 and teaches traders how to develop systems using state of the art system automation software.
Krutsinger continues to be very active in the trading world. He is a featured speaker and teacher at seminars and meetings worldwide, has been featured in the Future’s Learning Center’s three video courses and has written and contributed to numerous books. Mr. Krutsinger's book, The Trading Systems ToolKit was a Fortune Book Club Selection and his book Trading Systems, The Secrets from the Master has been highly rated.
